The Real Housewives of Salem: 1692

Yes, this is really a show, and it's EPIC!

Teaser of SURVIVORS

Survivors is a sci-fi short film that is in post-production. This film is part of a project called Space-Time Experiment. The objective of this project is to make a feature-film from several shorts. It's a different project, maybe you've heard of similar projects, but this is unique.

I invite you on to find out what is it: Space-Time Experiment

It's an experimental project based on the Web and nonprofit. The goal is to have fun making movies. All are invited to participate: writers, film buffs, directors, students, teachers, etc...

Everyone can participate.

Shotgun Mythos--Back in Action

We have been quiet for a month or so, partly because we were recovering from the never ending shoot, and partly because we have been up to our eyeballs with new developments. We were fortunate enough to get an investor in the show.  As a result, we have been able to upgrade equipment and software.  New camera, microphone, seamless greenscreen and much needed software are going to make Season 2 positively epic.

And just because the filming is done, doesn't mean the work is.  We have been working hard on the marketing and promotion, and that is coming together at long last as well.  This week we received notice from a television station that reaches 250,000 homes in Northern Virginia, that they would like to air Shotgun Mythos on their network.  So Clint is busy re-editing all 39 webisodes into 28 minute episodes.  We are very excited to be expanding our audience with 18 episodes on TV!

And of course, it is time to start filming again!   We have been busy with casting, scheduling, location scouting and testing makeup and effects.  And as I type this, my phone just beeped, reminding me that the next episode of the show is going live tonight.  As of this week, we have been releasing new content every Thursday for a year!

So, all of the endless hours are finally paying off in a lot of ways.  And we are excited with all of the developments.

NINJAS OF THE CARIBBEAN!

Rotating Moon from LRO

A huge payoff from the longevity of the LRO mission is the repeat coverage obtained by the LROC Wide Angle Camera (WAC). The WAC has a very wide field-of-view (FOV), 90° in monochrome mode and 60° in multispectral mode, hence its name. On the one hand, the wide FOV enables orbit-to-orbit stereo, which allowed LROC team members at the DLR to create the unprecedented 100 meter scale near-global (0° to 360° longitude and 80°S to 80°N latitude) topographic map of the Moon (the GLD100)!

It's About the Story

Joe Wilson reminds us all, that it's about the story after-all. If you are an online content creator of any sort, then you shouldn't pass up the valuable information contained in this interview with Joe Wilson (creator of Vampire Mob) as he breaks down the process of creating a web series. If you have already seen the interview, then use it as a refresher, if you haven't seen it and you are new to the online web series creation universe, then this should be on your must-watch list and saved in your toolbox for future reference; it's that important! When Mr. Wilson asks the question, "what story do you want to tell," he purposely filters out all the online video brimming with shock value footage whose sole purpose is focused on doing nothing more than chasing the going viral "golden-ring." That my friends is nothing more than hitting a video lottery. I know, there are some recent star antics that are laughing all the way to the bank, but the point is what story does it tell? Eventually, at some point, in the near future hopefully, we will be able to grapple with the "tsunami of content" coming at us, as Joe points out, and get some organize method of finding creative story-driven content. As a writer, that's my wish.

The Philip DeFranco Show: 13 MURDERED IN NAVY YARD SHOOTING; AARON ALEXIS ...

Occupy Wall Street's Two-Year Anniversary

Watch live streaming video from globalrevolution at livestream.com
From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occupy_Wall_Street

Occupy Wall Street (OWS) is the name given to a protest movement that began on September 17, 2011, in Zuccotti Park, located in New York City's Wall Street financial district. This date may be disputed with a likely trigger event as early as August 1, 2011, as a nude artist performance "Ocularpation: Wall Street" followed by arrests on Wall Street occurred while protesting American financial institutions.

The main issues raised by Occupy Wall Street were social and economic inequality, greed, corruption and the perceived undue influence of corporations on government—particularly from the financial services sector. The OWS slogan, We are the 99%, refers to income inequality and wealth distribution in the U.S. between the wealthiest 1% and the rest of the population. To achieve their goals, protesters acted on consensus-based decisions made in general assemblies which emphasized direct action over petitioning authorities for redress.

"The Stafford Project" Is A Comedy Gem...

Michelle Stafford started out modeling but quickly found a passion for acting. Since then she has been a major player within the soap opera canvas for over 16 years. Not only did she take daytime by storm, she also was tapped to be a correspondent and blogger for NHL. Though fans were sad to see her leave her double-Emmy winning role as Phyllis Summers on The Young & the Restless, the fearless actress decided to test the web world waters.

She recently launched her new web series The Stafford Project.  It's a comedy shot in reality show format, in which cameras follow the soap star through her every day life. Whether she's picking up her adorable daughter Natalia, having a disastrous first lunch date or getting locked out of the hair salon with foils as Paparazzi click away, it's all out there for everyone to see!

As an avid web series viewer, I have seen my share of incredible and not-so-incredible online serials that just had me shaking my head.  However, The Stafford Project has a very realistic feel to it, much like Seinfeld did as we followed Jerry, Elaine George and Kramer through their crazy everyday mishaps.  Michelle Stafford definitely has the same type of quality in her comedic timing as Jerry Seinfeld, with the ability to pull you into her world and make you feel her humiliations!  I mean, how many of us have had that horrible first date from Hell where a goodnight kiss is EXPECTED when all you want to do is vomit?  Audiences can identify with Michelle, which is why the show is so endearing.

Fans took to twitter to show their love:

N Bonilla ‏@NicB1203 11 Sep@TheRealStafford @JoshuaMorrowYR               Finally got to watch Ep. 3...OMG I laughed and laughed. Thank you.  You     are both AWESOME!

LVL ‏@LemonVodkaLover 11 Sep@TheRealStafford DUDE! Im totally
jonesing for the next epi!  What've   you done?!? #thestaffordproject is
like a freaking drug...I'm addicted!

Lucy Pozek ‏@LucPoz88 10 Sep@TheRealStafford u were in my dream
last night and I took it to mean that I needed to rewatch all the eps
from the @StaffordProject! #love

Michelle's motto: "Doing it as a single chick". The sassy just-turned-45-year-old actress addresses the notion that life is over for women after 40 and had this to say on her website:

"Society "teaches" us life is pretty much coming to an end for a woman who is in her 40's. Do you know what I say to that?  Bullshit, and oh, um, bullshit again!  Seriously my daughter was conceived when I was 42. Enjoy being a woman who's life is really beginning again and say a big PISS OFF to anyone who tries to tell you it's over because you're 40! They're just
jealous because you're such a HOT BITCH!"

Not only do fans love "The Stafford Project", so does TV Guide who called the new series, "terrific and audacious". Thus far it's received 20,000 views in the first 24 hours and has broken the 200,000 mark overall.

With guest stars like her Y&R buddy Joshua Morrow, who showed up in episode three and just couldn't stop calling her 'Francis' (soap character name), the series has already set the course for success.  Episode Four looks to be just as hilarious when Kelly Preston guest stars as a rival soap diva! Let's just say old rivalries bubble to the surface and Michelle just can't help but get a little revenge!  What does she do?  You'll have to wait until September 16 to find out, but Entertainment Tonight had a little sneak peek.

In this new media called "Web Series", anyone can put anything online with no limitations, but it is the people behind these series that make it or break it.  In my opinion, in a mine of diamonds in the rough, The Stafford Project brightly shines and even if you've never seen her in action on The Young and the Restless, you'll fall in love with her in this amazing new comedy.

Be sure to check out Michelle's website that gives you her take on many favorite subjects such as Men, Style, Beauty and Parenting.

Cap South

Greetings, Web Series Today!  This is Rob Raffety, creator of the comedic web series, Cap South!  I'm a new guest blogger for the site, and I'm looking forward to contributing to the already lively discussion of the forum.

Of course, I'm happy to share my experience in producing Cap South, a project that consumed a great deal of my life this past spring and summer.  But as a fan of web series more broadly, I'm also eager to post links and reviews in an effort to spark discussion of other web projects of interest.  For those of you who haven't heard of Cap South, think West Wing meets Workaholics.  The show includes 11 episodes (typically ~5-7 min per episode) and dozens of ancillary videos - attack ads & crazy constituent phone calls - to supplement the overarching narrative.  All of these videos were released over the course of five weeks spanning July and August 2013.

Thus far, the project has been very well received by fans, critics, and the press.  Most recently, Cap South was named an Official Selection of ATLWebFest.

I invite you to check out the full project via a compilation playlist on the Official YouTube Channel - nearly 2 hours of content in total.  I welcome any and all feedback on Cap South, as well as questions about any aspect of the show.  In the coming weeks, I'll blog about some of the lessons I learned through the writing and production process - what "worked" and what didn't - and how I'm hoping to build on the project in the future.

In the mean time, aside from any thoughts, comments, criticism or praise you have for Cap South, I'd love to hear more about your favorite comedy shows on the web.  There's never been a better time to be a fan and creator of online video entertainment!

Web Series Today "Author" Update

We have recently updated the Web Series Today "author list". We do this periodically because the Blogger platform only allows for a limited number of "authors" and we expect all "authors" to contribute on a regular basis. This means that if you have not published an article on Web Series Today in the last 30 days, you might have been removed from the list to make room for new "authors" who desired to contribute regularly.

This update has to be done manually so there is a significant chance that an author can be removed by mistake. If this has happened to you, then please let us know as soon as possible and you will be added back to the list. We also realize that from time to time an author may take a break, but still wants to actively contribute. Again, if you find yourself removed from the list and want to actively participate please let us know as soon as possible. Vacant positions often fill up quite quickly, so we once again stress that you should let us know a.s.a.p..

When updating the list it is important that we are able to correlate the post by a given "author" with the user name they signed up with. For some reason some "authors" choose the name "unknown" which is far from helpful and these "authors" are quite likely to be removed. It is important to choose a name that allows us to identify you from your posts when updating the list.

Please remember that a click in the wrong place is all it takes to accidentally remove someone from the list, so if you have posted recently, and were removed by accident, please do not take it personally. This is some thing we can quickly reverse with your cooperation. Also, there is a chance that if you were recently added to the "author list" and have not yet had time to post, you may have been removed from the list. Once again, let us know a.s.a.p. and we can simply add you back.

f you are not currently an "author" and want to actively participate in Web Series Today, then please follow the directions in the link on the right menu of Web Series Today. Please do not sign up if you only want to make a single post. The blog is intended for those who want to actively participate in this community. so signing up to make a single post is a waste of everyones time, and you will simply be removed after 30 days of not posting. Instead, just ask one of the existing authors to make the post on your behalf. That has the added benefit that the community gets to help each other.

If you have previously applied to become an "author" and have not yet received an invite you should be aware that we recently discovered an issue with the application process. It appears that some applications have been directed to a "spam" folder for some unknown reason. In the next week we will be checking the spam folder to see if any "author requests" have been missed. With this current update we now have a few open "author positions" so we hope to be able to process any outstanding requests.
