WHAT TIME IS IT?...Coverage of Glenn on BreeFM

Glenn, live on BreeFM @11pm EST, Wednesday.

11:49 DJ_GlennFM "I watched Sex Drive the other night... Sex Drive is the new Euro Trip"

From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_Drive_(film)

Sex Drive is a 2008 comedy film about a high school senior who goes on a cross-country road trip to hook up with a girl he met online. It is based on the novel All the Way, by Andy Behrens. The film was directed by Sean Anders, and stars Josh Zuckerman, Clark Duke, and Amanda Crew. James Marsden and Seth Green appear in supporting roles. It was released in North America on October 17, 2008 and in the United Kingdom on January 9, 2009.

Glenn will debut a new Mash-up this week.

'Blink 182 vs Jackson 5 - Dammit, I Want You Back (Glenn, Mash-Up)"

The event was covered live on Twitter.

Glenn spent Valentines day chilling. Glenn played some Street Fighter 4. He was flipping thru the channels and ran into a movie: "Somewhere In Time ". It came out in 1980. If you had cable in 1981 you probably saw it. Glenn must have watched it 30 or 40 times because they only had 12 movies on rotation. Christopher Reeve has been in some great movies: Somewhere In Time, Deathtrap and Superman.

In Somewhere In Time Christopher Reeve plays a playwrite.

From Wikipedia:
The film begins in May 1972, when playwright Richard Collier is approached by an elderly woman who places a pocket watch in his hand while pleading with him to "come back" to her. Eight years later, Richard, stressed from writing his play, decides to take a break and stays at the Grand Hotel, where he becomes entranced by a strangely captivating photograph of a mysterious, beautiful young woman. With the assistance of Arthur Biehl, an old man who's been at the hotel since 1910, Richard discovers that she is Elise McKenna, a famous early 20th-century stage actress. Upon digging deeper, he learns that she was the aged woman who gave him the pocket watch eight years earlier, but who subsequently died later that same evening.

He figures out he can travel thru time via self-hypnosis. He woes the younger woman: Jane Seymour. This came out 28 years before Titanic.

In the 3rd act of the movie they are finally together and then their is an ironic twist. Glenn pointed out a flaw in the logic of the ending.

It was shot on Mackinac Island, Michigan. Christopher Reeve attended an event there a year before his accident.

Dollhouse
We have been talking about it for a long time. We were all excited a year ago. It was "ok". Some of the plot devices seem familiar to Glenn. There was really no "set up". The only reason we knew what was going on is that we follow what Joss Whedon does. If this was a regular episode it would be fine but it was not a "pilot" that would expand an audience. You have 3m Joss fans and maybe 2 million more sci fi fans. Beyond that who watches TV on Friday night?

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was back to back with Dollhouse. It was amazing. Glenn predicted that Dollhouse will be cancelled and said it is bringing down Terminator: http://www.hulu.com/terminator-the-sarah-connor-chronicles.

Glenn put together a new "bumper" for GlennFM:

Glenn then had an "improv conversation" "with" a production library of promo clips. Next week we might work on a PSA.

The windows version of Street Fighter IV comes out this week.
