WHAT TIME IS IT?... Coverage of Glenn on BreeFM

Glenn, live on BreeFM @11pm EST, Wednesday.

There was a very active chat session in IRC chat which revolved around the evolution of online video and what it will take to monetize online web series in the future.

There was a discussion of Fanboys (2009 film)

From Wikipedia:
Fanboys is a comedy film directed by Kyle Newman and starring Sam Huntington, Chris Marquette, Dan Fogler, Jay Baruchel, and Kristen Bell. It was released in the U.S. on February 6, 2009, and in Canada on April 3, 2009.

There was also a discussion of Twitter in terms of what work and what does not work on Twitter. Currently the most interesting interactive format for communication on the net. It overcomes the stuff that ruined myspace. It can be interactive and conversational, or more like short blog updates.

There was a discussion of the Webbys and the Streamys and what it take to make a good award show. Does it get you to watch a show? In terms of monetization you have advertiser supported vs advertiser owned. Hulu has dispelled the notion of webisode storytelling being different than what works on television. You have to have an edge that the shows on Hulu don't. With interactivity how can you scale that experience so that the participant number is much closer to the viewer number. YouTube just made things much more challening to monetize with their announcement about integration of sponsors violating TOS. When was the last time you saw a web series and you said "oh my god - you have to watch this"? The studios who are paying for it all would want to use the best for what they've monetized to death, which is the TV (and DVDs)

Here is the archive of of stories from LG15 TODAY concerning Glenn's radio show on BreeFM.
