The Making of "The Making of a Pigeon Coop" (Maddison Atkins)

This is the footage from yesterday. It took the two of us all day to get it built, but at least we had fun.

I scanned the postcards like you asked Maddison. Did you ever look at the back of it. It's got a bunch of writing on it.... or marks. Weird

I translated the Morse: feel free to disagree where the dots and dashes are a little iffy.

The image is split into groups of three; I believe there is a line between the two groups on the 2nd-last line, though I can't be sure.

An image of my translation is here:

  2. Why bother with the Morse code if it's just numbers for another code?

  3. yes...why BOTHER with attempting to solve a puzzle, if it will simply lead into another puzzle?

It's like they want us to play one of those 'ARG' things...

  4. Morse code is not a puzzle.

  5. Because the message is a secret. Numbers all over the note might look suspicious.

  6. My point is Morse code is not something that should be part of any puzzle. Puzzle should require you to think in order to solve them. Translating Morse code does not require you to think. To me it's just something you have to spend a few minutes converting before you actually get the puzzle. When I see something like this, I don't see anything remotely resembling a puzzle.

If you're not going to put the effort into making a real puzzle, then don't bother.

As for the argument that it's a secret message you don't want anyone else to see. A bunch of dots and dashes is just as suspicious.

  7. The first three sets of three (573 228 509) added together and then divided by three is 436.

  8. Wow Joe, that's so helpful.

  9. Jesus Christ. It's people like Joe that constantly piss me off...

They complain when there are no good games to be a part of, and when one finally comes along that clearly has a LOT of work put into it, they deem it unworthy.

"If you're not going to put the effort into making a real puzzle, then don't bother."

Alright then. If you're not going to put any effort into solving said puzzle, then do us all a favor and shut the HELL up and keep your comments to yourself.

I can't STAND IT when people act like they're 'too good' for a game, or that it's beneath them to have a little fun.

Just play the game. I agree it's okay to criticize every now and then, but all I see is a bunch of folks bitching and whining.

"My point is Morse code is not something that should be part of any puzzle. Puzzle should require you to think in order to solve them. Translating Morse code does not require you to think. Then you clearly don't know what a puzzle is, and you clearly haven't even looked at this one properly. If you had taken the time to actually EXAMINE the thing you're whining about, you would have noticed that it's NOT just something you have 'convert', but rather it's a pretty interesting cipher that (as of yet) no one has fully cracked.

(And I doubt YOU'LL be the one to do it. Although you'll probably complain about the next one.)

If you can't come up with something better, then just sit back and be a player like everyone else.

Leave being a PM to the puppetmasters.
