Lonelygirl15 gets a "make over"

::::: UPDATE :::::

Miles Beckett said:

The old fourm is still up. Right now you can get to it here http://lonelygirl15.org/forum/index.php. We'll find a hew URL for it and for the old LG15 site next week and we'll link to it from this show page.

  1. You forgot to mention the part where, with the repeated in-between wipeouts of lg15.com, this means the entire history of the lonelygirl15 community is gone.

    Original comment boards - gone.
    Original forums - gone.
Original Resistance comment boards - gone.
Original The Last comment boards - gone.

    It's all gone.

Please do not hesitate and proceed to post your sincerest thanks to all the anonymoose and Creator-loving commenters for incessantly strangling any attempt to keep the Cs in check and force them to treat us nicely, successfully allowing them to do whatever the fuck they want with no fear of a backlash of any kind.

Because, you know, clearly the Creators love us with all their heart, and the fact that they constantly fuck us over is just an unfortunate series of misunderstandings and accidents, right?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Miles and Greg:

Do you plan on putting the original comments back on the new design? If so, on what time frame.

In the mean time is there a way to keep the older sites alive so that we still have that record available?

This stuff means a lot to the community and we would really appreciate a timely response.

  4. The good news is that ever since posting:

    http://lg15today.blogspot.com/2010/01/coma-cam-its-miracle-from-cheers.html

I get Cheer ads beside my lonelygirl15 videos. Very trickly stuff that branded entertainment

  6. Thanks

That still leaves the question about the video "comments".

  7. "the fact that they constantly fuck us over" - renegade you really need some help.

    ReplyDelete
  8. At this time, comments are not able to be reposted. the forum convo's were on a diffrent forum, so at this time. that is not able to be reposted.

  9. I supposed I'm predictable, but I'm wondering if the binary code in the background image is random...

  10. @anon: Show me the tens of thousands of video comments of three years of videos still being there, and you'll actually have made my post pointless.

Thanks, though...I guess the Cs' technical incompetence serves a purpose for once. At least until they notice they failed to redirect .org properly.

Doesn't change the attempt or the fact that they didn't post about it, though, which would've reduced confusion.

Then again, since TJ saw the discussion, I'm sure they have long been informed about this thread...shall be interesting to see how/if they react.

  11. I am not an Eqal apologist by any means, but I can see the issue here. How do you market your software package when potential consumers look at it and say hey... you want me to buy this, but your flagship series is using a free competitor (that functions better). Is it fair that the comments are gone, no. Frankly, are you really surprised? Again, no. They are doing what they think is right for business. The hundreds of thousands of views are encapsulated in view count not in forum comments, and the video count/production is not their focus anymore, not relying on competitor software is. Besides when was the last time you read over all those random conversations and thousands of meeps? We cried to have the forum open, and rejoiced when it did, until we found out that our new friends could play in our old sandbox. Yes, it sucks, but its no surprise. (Oh dear god I think I've out talked Gade again XD)

    ReplyDelete
  12. I stand corrected. I hadn't yet seen the other thread on this topic.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I believe you mean "couldn't play in our old sandbox".

And no, of course it's not a surprise, and I've said for years EQAL's decisions make sense on a business end.

But the fact that there is a reasonable business case for treating us like shit doesn't mean we have to accept being treated like shit, does it?
Especially if they don't even have the balls to come out and actually tell us about it, and instead try to sneak it in with a distraction.

Not to mention that, as pointed out before, the only reason this is the most efficient business case are the apologists and disciples.

The reason treating us like shit is the easiest and cheapest way to deal with this community is that whenever it happens, the trusty shills and cocksuckers come out, yell the protesters down, and pretend everything is fine and nothing bad happened.

If they had to be afraid there'd actually be any detrimental effects from treating us like shit, their attitude towards us would be vastly different.

But no, instead, they can rest assured that no matter how shitty they treat us, their trusty, delusional pawns will be there to ensure EQAL stays out of harms way, and those evil, evil protesters are silenced.

They could murder children on video these days and the anonymoose would come out and tell us to leave the Creators alone. *rolleyes*

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yes I didn't mean couldn't. I apologize. In all honesty I think you give them too much credit in a way. I don't think it was so much lets try to sneak it in with a distraction, I don't think they think that far ahead. I think its more a question of hey while we're actually working on LG15 for a change why don't we knock this project out so we can ignore the whole thing again (including the foul mouthed comments and spam on the front page). You're right there is no detrimental effect for them. Think of it this way, if this were a truly malicious act karma will come round.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Everything is fine.

    Nothing bad happened.

    ReplyDelete
  16. *Suddenly feels a wave of mellow sweep over the thread*

    ReplyDelete
  17. @Apo: Sorry, but as a newbie, I don't think you're in the position to chime in here.

What do you mean you're not a newbie? ...I can't find any record of you on lg15.com before Oct 1, 2009 - a mere three months ago?

    @Jaz: I think I found your lost "n't"...
And well, to a certain extent, you're of course right...assuming planning on the Cs' part is...questionable.

But I can't say I feel better about them not even caring enough to try to hide it.

I guess with the Creator Protection Corps out and actively trying to bury the dirt, karma is indeed the only hope left.

Sad, really. This was a good community once. Too bad there won't be any record of it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. @Ren: Thanks for acknowledging my cool new "newb" status, you realize of course this means I have never been wrong, so I can confidently say I'm always right.

Thanks also for not calling me a cock-sucking apologist. I read your comments toward Mathieas in the other thread, and I must say that's some non-mellow stuff you got going on there. In this community, Mathieas goes out of his way to bring laughter and fun posts here at LG15 Today IMHO.

I also think you have seldom been wrong about EQAL's lack of notification about this sort of thing. My guess is they are fully aware that folks will complain no matter what they do (as there is currently still a record of that here) and so notification falls in the category of "damned if we do, damned if we don't."

    ReplyDelete
  19. Geez, it must be soo hard carrying around the weight of the world, gade. I agree with the other posters it is time for you to just go away. Seriously, why do you spend so much time trashing something.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't think anyone needs to go away, but we do as a whole need to be more tolerant of each other's ideas. This makes even the most seasoned of us "newb"'s which in one way is a great equalizer among all of us. Granted, we know in our hearts that's not true. I don't think a call for anyone to leave our already fractured community is a good idea. We need to find a way to rebuild rather than destroy. We've all knows we are not Eqal's focus for a long time now. We need to learn to live and let live (easier said than done) because all of this hate (from all sides - myself included) does no one any good

    ReplyDelete
  21. Renegade stopped going in public because the world hates him, but now here online, everyone fucking hates him too. Ren-doesn't that tell you something?

The funny thing is, EVERYTHING you base your comments on Renegade isn't true. you are such an UGLY person and everyone that really does know things about the Internet world and start up businesses thinks you are nothing more than a troll.

Please take a bath with your computer.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I typically ignore Anonymous comments here, but I take exception to the idea that everyone hates Renegade.

I don't hate him. I'm willing to go on record as saying I like and respect him. I may not agree with all his opinions, but he is a fine operator in the official chatroom for LG15. He has given a lot of himself to this community, and (although you can't usually tell from reading here) he has a great sense of humor.

I agree with JazmynGrey. The hating on each other is self-destructive.

    ReplyDelete
  23. he gives nothing to the community that is remotely positive. he just wants attention. I do hate him.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anon2 What exactly do you give to the community that gives you the right to condemn him? And if you all believe he just wants attention why respond to him, let him just talk in a vacuum. By arguing back you give his points validity.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I agree all he wants is attention by tearing stuff down, nothing but a troll.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Am I missing something other than Renegade hates eqal because they dont make his favorite show anymore or update the web site for a show they dont make anymore to his liking?

He reminds me of the lady in Misery. so creepy if you think about it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Renegade writes:

    The creators'constantly fuck us over...'

Can you explain without sounding like a disappointed 5 year old who doesn't get what he wants for christmas how exactly you are fucked over? you don't pay them or in ANY way compensate EQAL, where do you get off acting as if the world owes you anything?

I'm reading more and more of your comments on here and a simple google search and some contacts in the business could disprove pretty much everything you say about EQAL. They are not worth millions of dollars. They RAISED $5 million dollars years ago. Start here. Then think about the ecomony and ad market in 2009. do you know what it costs to operate a business like EQAL? Do you even know basics like how many employees they have, what their EBITA is? ANYTHING? you think your 'support' somehow keeps them alfoat? It doesn't.

EQAL is known as one of the most hardworking, forward thinking companies in the game. you are in no position to refute this. I am because I have a job and work in the field. you are what is called a troll. you are a wannabe 4chan kid but not nearly funny enough.

When you get out of high school you will start to understand basic concepts like this. you have no idea what you are talking about just about every time you speak up on here. I will never come back to this site after today and I too wish you would go away.

    ReplyDelete
  28. @Anon: Feel free to prove even the slightest bit of what you just said.

Feel free to elaborate on how "everyone that really does know things about the Internet world and start up businesses" disagrees that it's a dumb idea to utterly alienate and disrespect your core audience and to ruin and kill a widely recognized brand that is the first of its market segment.

Basically, feel free to prove that you're anything more than a pathetic troll attacking Renegade because it's the cool thing of the moment.

Then again, I have yet to hear of the world-renowned Anonymous School of Business...

@Apo: Touché. I acknowledge your track record of infallibility.
I politely disagree with your assessment of the situation and shall point out that, just because you have been infallible in the past, that doesn't mean it'll stay that way in the present or future. ;)

@Adam: You do realize it's pretty silly to insinuate I "hate EQAL" because they don't update the website....when this entire discussion was sparked by them updating the web site - right?

    Nice try, though.
    Wanna try again?

Anon tried less subtle and more personal, maybe go with that. Broad claims about supposed previous statements or opinions, or demonstrably false claims about my lack of contribution to this community are also popular.

Or just piece together some of the anon comments - they're generally devoid of content anyway. For example, if you take the previous three anons, you get "Renegade stopped going in public because the world hates him, but now here online, everyone fucking hates him too. he gives nothing to the community that is remotely positive. he just wants attention, nothing but a troll.".

    See how easy that was?

@Adam2: This part is kind of cute, but really...on what grounds do you pretend to be any more of an authority on EQAL's business situation than I am?

Register. Then prove conclusively that your account is associated with someone in the necessary position to know the financial background of EQAL Incorporated.

Then you can pretend to know I'm wrong.

Until that happens, you are, at best, in the same situation I am, and, at worst, just another unregistered users making claims about EQAL's supposed standing in the business, who might as well be a sockpuppet for Miles.

In the meantime, I'll stick to the fact that text blogs are almost free, and that they managed to create the original lg15 on a much smaller budget than The Resistance, and call bullshit on the fact that they can't do Resistance 2 due to financial reasons.

I like your attempts, though. You're smarter than the general head->wall anon.
    Please stay around. :)

@latest anon: No, I was just typing while he posted. It's the whole asynchronous nature of the internet, you know?

Don't worry, you'll get it someday.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I would like to point out to the fellow named Adam that there are many wonderful articles here on LG15Today about web series.

Pretty much as long as you stay away from the LG specific ones you will never have to deal with drama queen Renegade since his only reason for coming here is to complain about EQAL.

    ReplyDelete
  30. You know what would be really great? If instead of constantly bickering with each other, we actually RALLY together behind Outbreak, and help get it out to the masses? Maybe send some invites out? Comment on the vids/discuss them come the 11th, and actually put a large foot forward in making the new show popular and successful.

Half of us spend so much time complaining about EQAL that we forget: we're getting a new show next week! We should be looking forward to it, and doing everything we can to make sure its launch is a success, and the series does well.

  31. Miles left a comment on the LG15 show page:

We'll find a new URL for it and for the old LG15 site next week and we'll link to it from this show page.

  33. Thanks Daniel. We added an update to the story.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hmm, let's see.

    - I'm provenly not the only one who cares.
    - Once again, actually speaking out rather than quietly taking it triggered the Cs to make a statement, proving, once more, that action, rather than submission, gets us more with them.

    Up yours, anonymorons.

See you in two days, when it shall be conclusively proven that all of Greg's secrecy surrounding whether or not Outbreak gets an official EQAL press release was utterly worthless because we'll all see whether it gets one or not either way.

  35. Daniel, if you can take a screen capture and post the link we would be able to better compare what we all see on screen.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hey everyone, this is Miles. I'm going to try to ignore the astoundingly cruel and callous comments here, but I do want to say a couple things.

    1. The old forum is not gone. As anon pointed out, the data is all there and it's currently at this URL http://lonelygirl15.org/forum/index.php

    2. The old comments on lonelygirl15 videos are not gone. The slugged URL lg15.com/lonelygirl15 re-directs to the new lonelygirl15 show page, however the old WordPress site and all the data is still there.

    3. We'll put a link to the old lonelygirl15 video posts/comments and the old forum on the new lonelygirl15 show page next week.

    4. The old "Last" and "Resistance" comments are not gone either. We'll link to them as well, I need to look into the details on Monday.

I want to specifically refer all of you to the post Greg and I made back in August http://inside.lg15.com/2009/08/14/lg15-phpbb-forum-is-back/

We have already held up and will continue to hold up all of the promises that we made in that post.

To all of the nasty commenters, I just want to say that we are people too and your words do affect us. Would you say these things to your mother or your friends? Think about that next time before you hurl expletives in our direction.

I want you to understand our motivations very clearly. Right now we make effectively $0 off the LG15 franchise (we still get a little money from recurring views on YouTube via the partner program). The ONLY reason we are doing all this work on LG15.com is BECAUSE we care about the community and about the brand. We ran TSIY2 and gave the Outbreak team $5k to produce a show because we want to keep the brand alive. We are sentimental too, and we love lonelygirl15 because it gave us everything we have today.

But, I want to re-emphasize my point. We have office rent, health care benefits, server and bandwidth costs. We have a lot of employees. These people have mortgages, rent, car payments, kids, and they depend upon us for their livelihood. We are in the middle of the worst depression since the Great Depression, and our #1 priority has been to stay in business. Now, DESPITE THIS, and when other companies probably would have just shutdown LG15.com because it doesn't generate any revenue, we chose not too do that.

    Why?

Because we love the brand and we love the community. But I'll be honest, it's not easy to love someone that spits on you and kicks you when you're trying to help them.

So, I'll leave you with this. I spoken with Austin on the phone several times and we’ve been working with him in preparation for the launch of the show. He’s a great guy who’s really talented and deserves your support. I'm so excited to see the show and I'd love for all of you to focus on what's most important...

Let's support Austin and let's make "Outbreak" into a huge success so that new people can discover LG15 and come to love it as much as we do.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Daniel, can you take a screenshot and tell me your operating system, and browser (along with version number)? We'll look into it. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Daniel you can also post it here so that we can see what the issue is...

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh look, suddenly EQAL has the immense desire to talk. What a surprising turn of events - I wonder why that didn't happen before the comments mysteriously vanished?

And really - all your sudden appeasing promises of activity are cute and all, but I can't help but notice that, while you say "The old 'Last' and 'Resistance' comments are not gone either. We'll link to them as well, I need to look into the details on Monday." today, you said "We had to take the old LG15 website down temporarily to get the new site up, but it will be back shortly and you’ll be able to access the old comments on LG15: The Resistance and LG15: The Last." three months ago.

So yeah. Actions speak louder than words. Let's see if you actually do something this time, or just tell us what we want to hear again.

As for the whole teary-eyed story about not making money - feel free to check back with every comment I made in the last year, or with the people in chat: I always said I fully understand the business decision of neglecting LG15. And I always said all I expect is an honest answer. I appreciate that you finally at least half-way got there and admitted that it makes no fucking sense at all to invest money into LG15 at the moment.

But you are still doing the exact same thing as before: You are refusing to actually declare LG15 dead.

As long as you are stringing people along, pretending that The Resistance might return someday, and that the franchise is as active as ever and it's all just temporary, you shouldn't be surprised people treat it like an active franchise.

We have been here. There was a post along the lines of "LG15 is dead" and EQAL came rushing and gave us a long post about how things are tough atm, but LG15 is definitely, officially not dead.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. You can't constantly pretend LG15 is a current, active, normal franchise just like any other you have, and then not talk to us for months and barely ever acknowledge us.

Be honest. Just fucking be honest.
If it's over, it's over. If it's not a priority, it's not a priority. We understand that.
But if you constantly pretend it's all just temporary, and you love us just as much as before, then you cannot complain when people base their actions on that.

And then there's the whole thing of communication.
Sure, the lack of money explains the lack of video, not doubt about it.
But it doesn't explain how Inside hasn't had a single line of post since September 21st, 2009, ignoring the end of the submission period, ignoring Outbreak's victory, failing to mention the impending change to the site, failing to update us on issues that came up during the server kill and were assured for later. (Where, for example, is the content of OpAphid's section?)

If you do not intend to care about this community anymore, then say so. Openly, honestly, unambiguously.

As long as you say you are caring, you can't fault us for pointing out when you obviously aren't.

That based on what you said.

Now let's get real. While I admit (and never denied) there is a business case for not wasting time and money on LG15, do you honestly want us to believe you're not killing LG15 solely for sentimental reasons?

That it has nothing to do with the fact that both EQAL as well as you and Greg are still introduced as the creators of lonelygirl15, and that "EQAL gives up, declares lonelygirl dead" would be a very inconvenient headline?

It's nice that you don't kill lg15.com. It's appreciated, really. But don't pretend it's solely for sentimental reasons, when a large part of your company's reputation is based on the success of LG15, and killing it would cast doubt over the commercial viability of "social entertainment" as a whole.

    ReplyDelete
  41. EPILOGUE

A little addendum to the cute part that goes
I want to specifically refer all of you to the post Greg and I made back in August http://inside.lg15.com/2009/08/14/lg15-phpbb-forum-is-back/

We have already held up and will continue to hold up all of the promises that we made in that post.

Let's cite from that post, shall we?
You have three nicely listed points of what you plan for the future of LG15. The last two are

    2. When we launch the new site, we’ll preserve the current LG15 site in an “archived” state, and at some point in the future we will integrate it into the new site. This includes the “lonelygirl15,” “KateModern,” “LG15: The Resistance,” and “LG15: The Last” comments/profiles/forums/etc. For the sake of clarity, ALL LG15 CONTENT that is currently online will stay online and remain visible, this includes the newly reopened phpBB forum.
    3. Greg and I are going to make a concerted effort to be better about communicating with you guys about what we’re doing with LG15. We aren’t perfect and sometimes we get incredibly busy with everything that we are doing with EQAL, but we understand the need for better communication and will do a better job.

    lonelygirl15's comments are not there.
The Resistance's comments are not there.
The Last's comments are not there.
And while the forum is still there, it is decidedly not "visible". Otherwise we wouldn't need people here and over on lg15.com linking to the "new" location.

In addition, as pointed out above, your communication is utterly lacking. Basically, the only thing you "communicated" in the past three months is copy-pasting a small post whenever a new TSIY submission was up, plus the sporadic, similarly-crafted non-post rehashing things we've all already seen on LG15 Today.
In this very case, you failed to invest the tiny little effort of dropping us a tweet going "we're going to take down the lg15 comment boards for a while, they'll be back shortly".

So. You had three plans for the future in that post.
    1. Relaunch lg15.com
    2. Preserve the previous state
    3. Communicate better

Out of that, you only achieved 1.
So would you care to explain how failing in 66% of all cases equals "We have already held up and will continue to hold up all of the promises that we made in that post"?

I mean, that is a fucking blatant lie.

Why is it so hard for you to just be honest for a change?

  42. You would think that you went to the site and saw nothing but a sign that said CROATAN on it. Gees

    ReplyDelete
  43. 'gade...how do you NOT see the contradictions in your post?

You keep saying EQAL doesn't care about the community...but here they are updating websites, starting a new show, promoting it, and trying to keep people happy.

They've talked about the financial situation for a LONG time. Quit acting like they havent.

They don't have the funds for The Resitance season 2. They're doing what they can to keep things going until they can find a way to bring the main show back.

Your solution is apparently to just drop everything and declare the entire franchise dead. That sounds to me like you don't really care about the community that much.

EQAL is trying to keep LG15 going. You're bitching and complaining 24/7 no matter what they do.

If you have a better plan of action, then by all means, share it with us. If you know how they can get the Resistance 2 rolling, then let's hear it.

But currently, all you keep saying is 'kill the show', and no offense, but that idea sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The key here is communication.

Why do things have to be so complicated Miles?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGXYAJoDWCk

You have a web site that lets you talk to the community when changes are in progress.

    You have twitter.

Why does it always have to be so difficult?

If you treat people in a way where you act unilaterally without informing them what is going on then is it such a surprise that they get upset?

That said, this is Outbreaks story now, so as you said, lets all get behind them!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Websites fixed now,

    ReplyDelete
  46. Thanks Daniel

Since the site has just had a makeover, and the script has not been adjusted for that yet, it is entirely possible that you are correct.

If anyone else has a similar problem just turn it off until there is an update available.

  49. @anon:
    - Their update to outbreak's site was a necessity, and the update to lg15's site left us with less than we had before. Sorry, no credit there.
    - They are starting a new show? Really? Last I checked they outsourced the whole thing to the fans, for over a year now.
    - Promoting it, are they really now? Please go ahead and show me all the places outside the community they have even so much as name-dropped Outbreak. Tweeting that Outbreak is around the corner to the exact same people who have been waiting for it to start for three months is not promotion - it's redundant.
    - I will give you that they are trying to keep people happy - but that doesn't mean it works, and that doesn't mean their motive for that isn't their business and reputation rather than our happiness.

I also don't deny they have mentioned before they do not have the money for The Resistance 2 at the moment. But that at the moment is exactly the point, and exactly what I was talking about in my post.

EQAL consistently refuses to declare LG15 dead, and consistently makes it sound like it's all a temporary question of money, and once they have the money, LG15 will return.

I am not asking them to kill the show. Quite the opposite. I'd be happy if it returned. But what I am asking for is honesty and realism.

Let us say, hypothetically, they get $100,000 for free. No strings attached, they can do whatever the fuck they want with it. Would they invest that money into LG15, making The Resistance 2, knowing full well there would be no revenue, and that they're basically burning the money for our happiness?
Or would they invest it to keep their business afloat?

Would having enough money really automatically bring LG15 back?

I'm not saying what they are doing is wrong on a business end. What I'm saying is, they can't refuse to proclaim the franchise dead, and then complain when people expect them to behave like it was alive.

If they don't want us to expect them to do anything for LG15, that's fine. But they should say so.

All it takes is for Miles and Greg to come forward and openly, honestly say "listen folks, LG15 is currently not a priority for us, so don't expect any updates on it until we publicly say there will be one".

But they refuse to do that. Instead, they promise us better communication and shinier sites, only to turn around and ignore us again, until a random uproar makes a statement necessary.

Is it really such a crime to ask for a simple, honest, realistic statement about the state of the franchise?

If they don't want us to bother them with LG15 stuff because they have more important, more profitable things to do, then the most simple way to ensure that is to fucking tell us.

But look at Miles's post. Again, it's a completely ambiguous appeal to emotion and marketing speak. He doesn't say the Resistance will return. He openly admits it's because there's no money and LG15 doesn't generate any.
But then he turns around and says they love the franchise, and explicitly says "we want to keep the brand alive".

So tell me, where does that leave us? Should we expect support from EQAL or not? Does LG15 have the same importance as, say, Level26 or not? Is there a realistic chance The Resistance will return or not? If so, how long will it take? 6 months? A year? Five?

I am not trying to generate a specific answer. I am trying to get an answer at all. For clarity's sake. Because even if the answer is "at the moment, it is very unlikely we will ever have the finances to return The Resistance, and we'd really like you to just leave us alone about LG15", then at least we'd have clarity.
We would know where we stand, could gather the pieces, and see what's left of the community and what we can do with it.

Instead, we're stuck in a perpetual cycle of hope, carrot dangling, standing by as the fallback-community.

  50. It is not even clear that Eqal is even trying to look for a sponsor for LG15.

Given that we post article after article about how web series are getting funded that seems a little surprising.

To blame it on the economy is just not totally honest. We tend to look at an economy in the macro economic sense, but the reality is that in terms of micro economics there are always opportunities.

A large number of the largest businesses in the world today started out when there was a poor economy. It is more about talent and skill.

Eqal has shown that they can make reasonable content. They did it with KateModern and they did it again with Harpers Globe. So what is the problem? Put quite simply it is a failure to market.

They failed to effectively market Harpers Globe and they failed to market lonelygirl15. With KateModern they did better because they had Bebo at the helm.

Eqal will never be able to bring back their own show to the LG15 Universe if they fail to learn how to market and build a team that can execute. It is really that simple.

Either Miles does not want to produce content or he is not a capable CEO. It is fine that Eqal wants to produce software but to say they cant produce content because they have no funding simply points to their weakness as a company: marketing.
