"Hey everyone, this is Miles. I'm going to try to ignore the astoundingly cruel and callous comments here, but I do want to say a couple things.

1. The old forum is not gone. As anon pointed out, the data is all there and it's currently at this URL http://lonelygirl15.org/forum/index.php

2. The old comments on lonelygirl15 videos are not gone. The slugged URL lg15.com/lonelygirl15 re-directs to the new lonelygirl15 show page, however the old WordPress site and all the data is still there.

3. We'll put a link to the old lonelygirl15 video posts/comments and the old forum on the new lonelygirl15 show page next week.

4. The old "Last" and "Resistance" comments are not gone either. We'll link to them as well, I need to look into the details on Monday.

I want to specifically refer all of you to the post Greg and I made back in August
http://inside.lg15.com/2009/08/14/lg15-phpbb-forum-is-back

We have already held up and will continue to hold up all of the promises that we made in that post.

To all of the nasty commenters, I just want to say that we are people too and your words do affect us. Would you say these things to your mother or your friends? Think about that next time before you hurl expletives in our direction.

I want you to understand our motivations very clearly. Right now we make effectively $0 off the LG15 franchise (we still get a little money from recurring views on YouTube via the partner program). The ONLY reason we are doing all this work on LG15.com is BECAUSE we care about the community and about the brand. We ran TSIY2 and gave the Outbreak team $5k to produce a show because we want to keep the brand alive. We are sentimental too, and we love lonelygirl15 because it gave us everything we have today.

But, I want to re-emphasize my point. We have office rent, health care benefits, server and bandwidth costs. We have a lot of employees. These people have mortgages, rent, car payments, kids, and they depend upon us for their livelihood. We are in the middle of the worst depression since the Great Depression, and our #1 priority has been to stay in business. Now, DESPITE THIS, and when other companies probably would have just shutdown LG15.com because it doesn't generate any revenue, we chose not too do that.

Why?

Because we love the brand and we love the community. But I'll be honest, it's not easy to love someone that spits on you and kicks you when you're trying to help them.

So, I'll leave you with this. I spoken with Austin on the phone several times and we’ve been working with him in preparation for the launch of the show. He’s a great guy who’s really talented and deserves your support. I'm so excited to see the show and I'd love for all of you to focus on what's most important...

Let's support Austin and let's make "Outbreak" into a huge success so that new people can discover LG15 and come to love it as much as we do."

  1. All of this could have been avoided if there had been some simple communication.

That said, onward to LG15: Outbreak...

  3. @modelmotion i didn't think people would freak out over the weekend... we aren't done with the update yet... I had to let people go home Friday night but we're on it this coming week

@Apo, thanks for your support. I hope you enjoy Outbreak.

    @anon :)

  4. Yes, I too was surprised people 'freaked out' on a weekend. Perhaps I should post more on Saturdays. Speaking of which ya'll should check out my latest article on the Bannen Way (shameless plug).

Well, it might help to just give the community a hands up when these types of changes are in progress. You have the LG15.com blog, so why not use it?

Now, anon will probably say that is demanding but its really not. It is more just common sense.

Enjoy your weekends, don't worry about us.

  8. You know what? Sorry, don't buy it. There's a saying that basically says: careful how you treat those on your way up because they are the same ones you pass on the way down. I'll give you that you've been true to your most recent pledge but that doesn't erase everything that came before. So if it takes some longer to forgive don't blame them. No one owes you a second chance.

  9. Thanks for the post, Miles. It means a lot that you would come here and talk to us. Tell your IT team that the pages look good so far.

  10. Did Anon#2 even READ what Miles said?
He is a person, and he has feelings and these people who work at EQAL are people too

Don't be so cruel to Miles because something that is out of his control.. He was right to say

"Because we love the brand and we love the community. But I'll be honest, it's not easy to love someone that spits on you and kicks you when you're trying to help them." Because it's completely true, some of you fans.. just aren't very friendly at all.
