The Web.Files #25 - Dorm Life

Nearly lost in all the Bannen Way excitement, I know shameless plug, is the fact that The Web.Files has kicked off the new year with an interview with Chris Smith, Jack De Sena and Brian Singleton, creators of the web series Dorm Life. The series recently concluded its second season during which it had a sponsorship deal with Carl's, Jr. The trio talk about their various other sponsorship deals with Hulu and MySpace. Also, for some strange reason, I have a craving for a Carl's, Jr. hamburger.

The series, which began as a project at UCLA, is the most viewed web series on Hulu. Beyond the series itself, the creators have created an entire community around the show, where fans can interact with each other and with the characters. In fact, the characters various profiles and twitters are updated by the actors themselves. Dorm Life received a nomination for best ensemble cast last year at the inaugural Streamy Awards, and is certain to be a contender this year as well.
