Ancient DOS Game

By e-mail:

A big hello to all of you at Web Series Today! My name is Kris Asick and I would like to direct your attention to a new web show I'm producing called Ancient DOS Games (or "ADG" for short).

Before I go any further, here's a quick link so you don't have to hunt for it:
http://www.pixelships.com/adg

The purpose of Ancient DOS Games is to bring to light all kinds of old computer games from the 80's and 90's using an approach that is as natural and informative as possible without relying on forced humour or other clichés. Each episode focusses on a particular game as I show a variety of gameplay footage and discuss the various features of the game such as how to play it, what the powerups are, tips for survival, or other fun factoids. I also talk about how to obtain each specific game and how to get them working on modern systems.

I also give hints at the end of each episode as to what game I will cover next and encourage viewers to send their guesses to my [email protected] eMail address. Whoever correctly guesses first gets their name in the credits of the next episode!

At present, I have 11 actual episodes up and an introductory Episode #0 which simply talks about what the Ancient DOS Games series is about. New episodes go up every Saturday (around midnight, give or take a couple hours depending on circumstances) and are hosted both on Blip.tv and of course my Pixelmusement website.

Scouring my website you may also notice that before starting this new series, I produced freeware and shareware games, such as PixelShips and Super Minesweeper, and I do indeed still sell them. Making games however takes an extreme amount of time compared to making my Ancient DOS Games series so it's now just something I do casually while focussing primarily on ADG... and my lousy call centre job.

Hopefully I've piqued your interest and I look forward to hearing back from you in the future! :)

...and just so you don't have to scroll back up to the top:
