‘Sex and the Austen Girl’ Finds Original Twist, and Babelgum

Sex and the Austen Girl launched today on Babelgum, a twenty-episode web series based on the best-selling Penguin novels, Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict, by Laurie Viera Rigler.

The 3rd Babelgum Online Film Festival

"This year's festival will feature simultaneous mobile and online viewing and voting by the global public in four categories."

"Submissions will be accepted from March 11 through March 28. The Babelgum audience will be able to start voting online and via mobile devices between March 29 and April 3. The voting period will continue for at least 15 days until a date to be announced on the Babelgum website."

"If you are the 1st Place winner of a Jury Award, you will receive a cash prize of US $3,000 (three thousand dollars). If you are a runner-up, you will receive US $1,000 (one thousand dollars). The winner of the Best Viral Short Award will receive US $2,000 (two thousand dollars). If you are the winner of an Audience Award, you will receive a prize to be determined by Babel and announced on the Babelgum website. If you are the winner of the Stoli Emerging Filmmaker Award, your film will be screened along with other winners and honored at a reception during the Tribeca Film Festival."
