I spent some time trying to decode the image overlay, so far without success.
ReplyDeleteThe first step was to map the symbols to arbitrary letters (easier to recognize, count, etc.) and then try to decode from there, assuming it might be a simple subtitution cipher, looking at letter frequencies, etc.
Here is the message, (still encoded):
A EMGC EBVNWJMEWFBV
TAN WTC PAGDCNW
MBPMHC AHBVD EMGBFIN
JCEWAVDMPAJ GBQCN
SFWT A DFMCV
NMJKAEC AJCA C D
XAXCJ EAJIGBAJI
NTCCW HCWAP CWE
The most common letters here are C,A,J and these might be decoded to e,a,r, making "AJCA" = "area", for instance.
If those letters are correct, then
probably "XAXCJ" = "paper"
If anyone finds errors in my work, please comment here. I began to suspect every other line may be reversed, or something like that, but nothing solid.
wow Q, i didn't know you were working on this here. great idea about replacing the symbols with arbitrary letters. i have no idea how to go on from there. you should post this in the forum!
