The Writers Cartel of America

"A negotiator observed publicly last Friday that working industry writers, on average, earn over $200,000 a year, receive high-quality health benefits, and are among the few employees in the world who get an additional annuity in the form of residual payments."

  1. "working industry writers, on average, earn over $200,000 a year"

Why do I get the feeling someone is playing with words/statistics?

Something like ... so for the 2 days out of 20 they are "working" they earn over $200,000 a year ... or about $20,000 a year total. The rest of the time they are just "brainstorming" or "editing" and we don't count that as "working." ;)
