WHAT TIME IS IT?...Coverage of Glenn on BreeFM

Glenn, live on BreeFM @11pm EST, Wednesday.

Welcome. Glenn is waiting to hear about some "stuff".

You know those songs you only have a tape and you cannot find it anywhere else? Maybe you cannot find the tape. Perhaps you moved and stuff goes into storage. Then you find it and don't have a tape player. Glenn found something on mp3 that he has been looking for. If you put in the bonus DVD for XBox you will find Daniel Amrich who used to work for Game Pro (He worked for Flux before that). He is in 9 1/2 weeks He made Glenn a mix tape.

The music of Simon & Garfunkel is poetry for many people. This cover version of the 59th Street Bridge song is great. If you love music you are in for a treat. Glenn played:

Danny Bonaduce - The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)

Brilliant Ideas From Glenn
It is hard to pump yourself up to do what you need to do. What can be done to give yourself that motivation you need. What if you start every day (as a team, or personally) with something that gets you pumped. What about watching something inspirational. The last 20 minutes of Rocky. Or the last 20 minutes of the movie Rudy? If you watch this you will be ready to go out there and change the world. The last 20 minutes of 8 Mile (It is not a good movie but the last 20 min are great). Its uplifting. Have you seen the movie Miracle? It will inspire you. The last 20 min of the Karate Kid? It is uplifting and heart warming. Try this every day when you wake up.

Glenn played:
Karate Kid - You're the Best

Glenn loves the movie "Back To The Future". It is a fantastic movie. When you watch Part 2 and Part 3 it is clear that there was never intended to be a sequel. It was on cable the other night and Glenn watched it through to the end which caused him to tear up. Originally cast in the role of Marty_McFly was Eric Stoltz. They actually shot 75 percent before they realized it was a downer so they recast the role.

Check out this link for what could have been:

Watching it as an adult Glenn had a different take on some of the mature aspects of the movie.

It is as close to a near perfect movie as exists.

Glenn talked about the original script for Part 2: http://www.bttf.com/scripts/Number_Two.pdf

Part 2 and part 3 were originally written as one movie and then split.

There is a lot of stuff online about "Back To The Future" if you look around.

Shooting draft for Part 2 and 3: http://www.bttf.com/ImageFolio3_files/gallery/Scripts/19881219.pdf

Back To The Future has aged really well. Glenn was bummed that they got rid of the ride at Universal Studios. It is in Glenn's top 5 of the best movies of all time.

Just One of the Guys is one of Glenn's favorite movies: It was part of William Zabka's trilogy where he defined the 80s teen movie antagonist.

From Wikipedia:

Zabka's breakout role came in his first movie, 1984's The Karate Kid. Zabka played the role of Johnny Lawrence, the main antagonist to the title character played by Ralph Macchio. An unused ending to the film later became the beginning of the 1986 film The Karate Kid, Part II, giving Zabka a brief appearance in the sequel.
During the 1980s Zabka continued to define his "bully" role in the comedy movies Just One of the Guys (1985) and Back to School (1986). Zabka also co-starred on the CBS television series The Equalizer with Edward Woodward (1986-1989) and he played Jack, Audrey's insensitive jock boyfriend, in National Lampoon's European Vacation.
Glenn gave a shout out to the Biglawson video in the Sony Competition

Vote for it!!!!!

Glenn said he was a little distracted as he waited on news about a friend. It is good to have stuff that takes your mind off things that are stressing you out no matter what you are going through.

Mari could not hang out this week because she was moving. Glenn hopes the next week will be a pick me up.

Here is the archive of of stories from LG15 TODAY concerning Glenn's radio show on BreeFM.

  1. anonymous, the radio shows have nothing to do with not making anything. Glenn has said Sara is busy with a movie right now. I am sure they will get back to Redearth88 as soon as they can.

I can understand not being happy about delays, but you can't say its because of radio shows, or that Glenn is lazy. I enjoy the shows.

  2. I dunno, man (different anonymous here). Glen's videos were popular long before Sara came along.
In fact, just location shots, music and text carried him through quite well. In fact, in my opinion, they were so much better then. Mystery, intrigue etc. More than a pretty girl talking to a camera (like YT needs more pretty girls talking to a camera).

If Glen wanted to make videos, Glen would make videos. I just think his fire's gone. He isn't interested anymore.
Nothing wrong with that I suppose.
Can't bitch about free entertainment, but we can't lay the absence solely on Sara either.

  3. Oops. My Steve signature should have been at the bottom of the post.

  4. I have seen nothing to suggest Glenn lost any fire. Glenn wants to tell the story of Redearth88, and I am sure that requires Sara.

He keeps us updated through the radio show. I am sure he didn't say anything last night because theirs nothing left to tell until things get started again.

  5. Anon, if you have been reading the posts or listening to the show you would know that Glenn is trying to turn this into a business opportunity.

You can only run on pure passion for so long. You also need to eat, and I don't think anyone can fault him for that.

  6. Of course he has to eat. I won't fault him for having dinner.

There are a lot of hungry artist out there who aren't sitting on a radio show waiting to sell out. They're producing art.
Nor will I fault him for wanting to sell out. Anyone who makes money from their talents are essentially selling out and that's really not a bad thing at all.

But you speak of passion. Here is Webster's definition of Passion in the context I think you mean:
plural : a:the emotions as distinguished from reason b: intense, driving, or overmastering feeling or conviction.

If Glen were truly passionate about redearth, then he would be doing redearth regardless. He would have no choice. I know, Sara's busy...but then, Tachyon got incredibly popular without a single actor. Just some imagination and creativity, and that is all that's needed.
That's what passion is. Passion isn't letting something sit on a backburner until it's marketable. Passion doesn't give a hoot about money.
If Glen's passion was to create, then Glen would be creating period. That's all I was saying. If Glen wanted to make videos, Glen would be making videos.

  7. Glenn has stated in his shows that he isn't going to release videos just to release videos. They have to make sense in the context of the story, and Glenn is passionate about telling the story his way, and we will find out what that is when they start up again.

Its never been just about making videos. Glenn wants to tell the REDEARTH88 story how he wants to tell it.

Its seems you are equating passion with physically seeing activity. He could release videos. He could do youtube channel profile updates every day on OpAphid's account for a year. He has stated he isn't going to do stuff like that if it doesn't make sense for the story. I would say he is passionate about the story he wants to tell, and he is passionate about telling it the right way.

Glenn also loves connecting with the community, hence the radio show. I don't think Glenn is any less passionate for it.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yes, Glen connects with the community, but so do you and I and anyone else who bothers to post a reply, comment or video. We aren't looking for monetary compensation either.
The passion I'm speaking of is the passion for telling a story, not a passion to host a radio show for the community.
As mm stated, Glen is trying to turn this into a business opportunity, which is all well and good, but Sara's hiatus shouldn't be an excuse to not produce any content. I wouldn't expect to see anything from him that doesn't make sense to the story, but really, the only thing that doesn't make sense right now is the lack of content from Rachel.
Why not show something from the faceless Tachyon? A new Opaphid video could be workable too provided the imagination was there to give it some sense and a purpose. Glen is a creative person. He isn't lazy and he isn't an idiot. If he really wanted to put energy into his series again he would've done so by now.

  9. Glenn's track record speaks for itself.

He isn't doing anything because that's what he does -- starts something and doesn't finish it.
He also gets a bunch of people to try to generate interest in his stuff, then does absolutely NOTHING.

This guy likes to play games with people to feed his ego. He got a bunch of attention when he was young and has nothing going on now. He's just filling that void.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Wow, anonymous has been busy.

Glenn does not have a track record of starting things and not finishing it. I do not understand where this comes from, except to generally attack a person for no reason. I love these factless arguments put forth as gospel.

Its already been stated that Sara is doing a movie and that Glenn is using this time to look around at the business side of things. You can continue to simply ignore this if you want, but your arguments hold no weight when they are simple accusations with no precedent.
