Chat Feedback for the creators!!!

Partial audio podcast (7:18min)

Thanks to a proactive fan we were able to get a full recording of the chat . The first 7 minutes are blank so use the NowLive podcast for that protion.

We want to know what you thought about the live chat with the creators. Did you get all the answers you were looking for? Were you happy with the answers you heard. Was your question adequately answered. How well did the NowLive chat platform perform for you. Were you overall satisfied with the chat, or do you feel there are issues that are yet to be resolved? Do you still have additional questions?

Leave a comment below and let us know what you thought about the live chat with the creators.

  1. I loved being able to see you guys, but the sound was cutting in and out horribly. Every other minute I was refreshing in an attempt to get the sound back. Maybe find a new platform?

  2. I came in before it started and right after... I missed the whole discussion, will there be a transcript for the main points covered?

  3. NowLive has a podcast feature that records the audio. Hopefully they had that feature turned on.

I know I can't add anything more than is already on the story below because my system simply cannot handle NowLive. Perhaps someone else will add something.

  4. I have posted a comment about using NowLive before this chat to warn about the issues with it.

Unfortunately this chat only confirms what I already knew. NowLive is unstable, the sounds kept dropping constantly requiring everyone to refresh up to multiple times a minute.

I was hoping that some serious issues about the new website could be discussed as well. The massive chatter however made it impossible to get any questions through. I've sent multiple questions about the development of the website and the focus on the community and none of them got answered.

This way there is just NO option of seriously discussing certain topics. I suggest a more secluded chat on IRC with some trusted members of the community about the new website.

The current chat did indeed turn out to be more like a press conference with too many attendees. Temporary fun for the masses, but not really a step towards improvement.

  5. I was EXTREMELY annoyed with NowLive. Having to refresh every 2 seconds was not very pleasant. Also, I was not kidding when I said they owed me a new F5 key, it really did stop working.

But, MM, someone did tell me that it was being recorded.

  6. I agree BS, Randy, and Ashly...the sound kept cutting out...and I had to keep reloading the page to hear them.

  7. I think it was a nice stepping stone, but I also think that a more secluded chat with people who seriously care more about the series aspects rather than Cassie or Bree's return should be held.

    But that's just me,

  8. The first seven min. were recorded. Too bad that's the part I heard before I went off to eat dinner. Can I get the rest of the hour, please???

  13. The podcast appears to cut out at 7:18 min. This may be connected to the fact that there was an echo and they had to turn off one of the streams. We will leave it up to NowLive to explain technically what happened. As far as we can tell there will not be a podcast of the rest of the show so if anyone recorded it all please let us know or send an email to [email protected]. There might be some useful information for LGPedia and we would hate to loose it for ever.

  14. Three things were mentioned to look forward to:

    1. more contests (and Amanda seemed open to contest suggestions)

    2. behind-the-scenes "office" videos during the break between lonelygirl15 and the new show

    3. When I asked whether they would consider designing future "story hooks" similar to the way Cassie was sort of handed over to fans, Miles responded "that is a good idea." ... I think this could be a good way to attach UGC to the canon story without plot conflict.

  15. Two things I asked that were not answered:

    1. When I asked who was behind the red curtain, Greg turned and looked at it, but there was no reply... coincidence? or mini-burn?

    2. Sadly, they did not acknowledge the necessity for "Bree vs. Gemma Kung-Fu Fighting" before the end of lonelygirl15.

  16. I also had to reload the page many times (20 or so) to unfreeze audio, especially during the the middle of the program.

  17. Oh, another interesting thing... Amanda said she was an extra in the background of a KateModern video and no one spotted her. She did not say which video, but BK suggested identifying it might be a good contest.

  18. A few things I recall about the new website...

About the new website - it will be similar to the current site (current video on main page), with links to forum and lgpedia.

The top of the page might be an important image (a puzzle or document) rather than a video.

Commenting on a video will be threaded and tied into the forum threading somehow (viewing same thread in two different places or something). The forum will be a new forum package. The current forums (including the Kate Modern forums) will be frozen and saved with a link to them somewhere for future reference. HOOBS will continue to be available.

    There will be user pages.

YouTube videos will be sourced into the website somehow (not sure if they meant right away or later).

They have the budget for programmers now, so new features will be added regularly.

  19. More random bits:

    Favorite lonelygirl15 videos:
    Miles: "Bree's Dad is Dead"

Greg: "A Peace Offering (and P. Monkey Boogies)" and "Home Invasion"

Amanda: "I'm Done" (Jonas video after Bree was killed)

Greg's father broke his finger (pointing it at Greg's chest) during "The Unthinkable Happened" - if you turn the volume up, you may hear him yelling in pain in the background.

    Favorite KateModern videos:
Greg: "Arma-goo-den" (Lee dressed as Cadbury Egg with the egg car) or anything with Lee.

    Miles: "Subservient Lee"

Amanda: appeared as an extra in the background of a KM video but no one identified her

  20. About new shows, etc.

There will be a show in Italy (they did not say when). Asked about English subtitles, they said they would like to include them, but may not due to expense, but hope a fan who speaks Italian and English will do translations.

The "new show" will be in English and set in the U.S. and may involve travel all over the U.S. including the East Coast. It will start late September or October. Just like KateModern and the Italian spin-off shows, the "new show" will be another story involving the Order and Hymn of One within the LG15 universe.

Eventually, they would like to have many such shows in various countries, perhaps 15 going at once. Each runs independently - you don't have to watch all of them to enjoy and understand one of them.

About YouTube channel lonelygirl15, they did not clarify exactly what their plans are. It sounded like there will be a single new YouTube channel for the "new show" and on the LG15.com website there will be some sort of character ID's/pages for each main character that fans can interact with. They might also post the new videos on the old lonelygirl15 channel, but are concerned about confusion.

  21. About a lonelygirl15 DVD, they said they have looked into it a few times, and the series does not work that well shown on a big screen TV and watching the videos one after another (rather than interactively with comments, etc. with time delay between each one).

Instead of doing a DVD, they would like to offer on their website the kind of extra features you might find on a DVD.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It's hard to offer feedback on an event that was impossible to listen to due to livenow technical issues.

    ReplyDelete
  23. They did answer the question about UGC created characters being included in the main show, and I think they said no, this would not happen (due to problems with plot conflicts), but that fans could interact with the shows through userids that could be "themselves" or "characters" they create.

(Note by me, QtheC: this is approximate and from memory, so get the recording if you can to get exactly what was said about this issue, or ask for a written response from the Creators... I don't want to misrepresent what was actually intended)

  24. I did not hear an answer to my question about privacy/moderators on the new site.

    ReplyDelete
  25. What questions do you folks feel were not answered? Let me or the C's know, and I'm sure there are other ways we can get them answered.

What was your question about privacy/moderators? There will be moderation and administration of the new site...

    ReplyDelete
  26. BK, our question was posted on InsideLG15. Also if you create a specific thread on the discussion board we can add the link and will actively promote it hereon the blogspot.

We know you posted one in NowLive but we are not sure what that thread was about and we do not think it was a new thread because we did not see it on your current posts.

    Thanks in advance.

  27. amanda was spotted in the KM video in the crossover part she was walking near jonas before going into the building.

    ReplyDelete
  28. She told us that isn't her.

  29. Nowlive sucks, I already experienced that with the katemodern chats. It freezes every few seconds and the sound keeps dropping. I hate it and I really hope they won't use this nowlive chat for the series finale, but they probably will sigh...
