Community Videos and the new website

Trainer101 says:

As the C's move closer to launching the new site, Miles, BK and the crew have been working on ways to feature your videos and stories. Lots of things are in development - it should be cool!

So many new stories are popping up and others have gone into hiatus so what I need from all of you is a status report of sorts. If you can answer these questions it will be a great help to us. Please don't reply here - anonymity is important to some of the stories. Instead, you can reach me via PM or email at [email protected]

There is more to the post, so click the link above to see it. If you run a community series, be sure to send an email to trainer.

LGpedia needs your HELP: Ways To Help

  1. I think we need some more information about how the new features on the website are going to be implemented before jumping on board with the idea that detailed information per series needs to be submitted to a moderator in order to be "featured" on the website... see my post on the thread linked in this article for some of these kinds of questions.

  2. At this point, we are just trying to build a list of all active Community shows. The issue with A&A/The Coalition just came from a discussion of whether those are separate shows are grouped together. All we were looking for was a list of shows that are active (in other words, still releasing videos), just to get a good idea of how many, which shows are still active, and to make sure none are overlooked.

The new site will have greater flexibility to allow UGC producers to create their own profiles and feature their shows in many different ways, helping keep it in the eyes of the community and allow for discussion. This is definitely in the works. Just for now, I asked Trainer to help me get a list of shows, since the LGPedia does not seem to have all shows or specify which ones are active or inactive (whether permanently or temporarily).

  3. Thanks BK. Please see my response to your repsonse on the discussion thread linked from this article.

  4. I would say we are active but on hiatus.

To what extent we will be active and when we come back will depend on the support we receive. I'm sure many others feel that way as well so compiling a list of this nature at this time seems to be premature.

Since the decision will likely be made upon evaluating the features that support community video it's probably a good idea to make this list after the features have been rolled out.

  5. All we're looking for is a list of active shows right now. If a Community portal or such is created, it will certainly be updated as new shows are added (or as existing shows go away). This is not a one-time thing... we just want a better, more updated and accurate list than is on the LGPedia. So any help is appreciated!

  6. Im still around and kickin', the question is does the new site still contain the same TOS or a brand new one? If it's a new one I would like to read it before requesting to be featured ... and if it's the old one then I guess i'll just do the same ol' thing i've always been doing.
