Email and mp3 from "Director" (The Home Office)

I posted what I received on the Ning site.

She is on her way.

And yes, you read books. We get it. This is not a game, Penn.

Attached is an mp3 with seemingly a piece distorted out.

  1. Impressively, the unfiction forums have solved this piece and have moved on to a morse code wave file that was found.

  2. zippy at the unfiction forums appears to have solved it

"EDIT: the only word missing during all the noise, appears to be the word 'Holloway'.

RE-EDIT: http://www.wethehomeoffice.com/holloway/ has a link to a wav file that appears to be morse code. will try and decipher.

    RE-RE-EDIT: Sound file translates to:

"ANALYSTS. GOOD WORK. ENROUTE TO EL PASO." "

  4. Damn I missed it! This puzzle was pretty neat.

V9K has kind of a recap on the ning forum and I confirmed the spectrum analysis of the noise in the MP3 that some other guy solved in the unfiction forums. Check it out at:

  7. In the chat on November 3rd, this was said:

01:50 HO16051414: Ultimately the account for the operation was our goal, and we've found it. Messages are sometimes overly complicated but surprisingly to our agent in the field a second path to the answer was found.

01:55 HO16051414: The keys were intended for a more private audience, but as a result of you having discovered the account to the op through other means, they have become obsolete.

So, I thought that the discovery of opzerosum was the solve to that puzzle. The path to discovery is probably still important to figure out, since it may come into play in future puzzles, but I thought the first puzzle had been solved, albeit not in the intended way of Agent Penn. We probably do need to figure out how though.

Or perhaps I am misreading the above chat? I wasn't personally in the chat and am just reading the transcript, so I could have mis-interpreted.

  8. I was in chat during the discussion and I interpreted it the same way Virginian did.
