"Yes, both sites are part of Disney, but perhaps creating a new media studio with a highly interactive community to incubate, contribute to, and test the palatability of original web series for larger audiences is the point. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more Take180 shows pop up on Disney and ABC destinations (including television) in the future."

See and they weren't even trying to be a "social media" company. If you don't do it right, someone else will.

I've enjoyed the Take180 shows though they are updated to infrequently for my liking.

I think their model of interactivity is interesting.

I have to say some of my favorite comedy sketches have come out of The Juice Box. Their Twilight parodies...hilarious.

The Juice Box is the one I haven't watched, but now that I know there is a Twilight parody (I love making fun of that...don't get me started on it though) I must check some of them out.
