Film Review: A SEPARATION connects us with gripping authenticity

A classic tale of cause and effect, it's easy to understand why the Iranian film, A Separation has had endless major accolades globally (46 wins and 20 nominations) bestowed upon it in the past year. And, as this year's Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Film, this masterpiece's dexterity to mesmerize forges on. Flawlessly written and directed by Asghar Farhadi, the film succeeds on every level. Suspenseful. Gripping. All of the performances here are so seamless that you will wonder if you are observing real life instead of fiction.

Our host, Stefanie Alleyne chats it up with today's panelist, Yahaira Pulino, at the Bedford-Stuyvesant urban country cafe, Peaches Hothouse, to review and discuss the stupendous film, A Separation.

  1. It is best just to pick the one major category/tag/label for a post:

Web series, Web show, Web news, or community video.

Typically, in terms of category use, Web series is generally used when the series is a scripted drama. Web news is all about news. You might consider the "Web show" category as the best fit for this series.

  2. Also you can select the size of embed on YouTube. The embed that is 480x360 is the best fit for SD video or you can make a custom 560x410 if you wish to fill the available space.
