Web Series Today: Welcome to new "authors".

Recently we added a batch of new "authors" to Web Series Today. Welcome, or as some of us say, meep!

The mission of Web Series Today is to keep the community (readers, commenters and authors) up to date with what is going on in the World of Web series. Because we have a limited number of author positions (Blogger limits us to 100 authors) we ask all authors to post on a regular basis. What you post is up to you as long as it is relevant to Web series, of community interest, or something that benefits the space in general.

Some people sign up with the intent of posting their own Web series but we also hope that those people will contribute on a more general basis. Perhaps you want to write a review. Perhaps you want to post a Web series that you personally love. Perhaps you want to discuss the meta of Web series. Perhaps you just want to be creative.

Because we have a limited number of author positions we ask that each author post at least once, and hopefully much more often in a 30 day period. If you fail to do that your author position will be given to someone on our waiting list. If you discover that you were removed from the "author" list and want to be added back you need to follow the normal application process.

When you are posting remember that Google is our best friend. A substantial number of views come from google search so when you post, think from the perspective of someone who might be looking for your content. "Videos" are inherently not Google friendly so think about the content you can add to your post to make sure it is discovered by interested parties. Make it authentic and real, because Google is no fool.

In addition look at the icon on your video. Does it stand out? Does it represent your content well? This is a visual medium and if your video icon is not brilliant think of adding a picture to your post to draw the reader in.

This is a shared space for us all to enjoy. Get to know other authors. Watch, read and comment on their posts. If you show an interest in others, they are much more likely to show an interesting your content. The more we grow as a community the more everyone benefits.

If you have any questions, leave a comment below.

  1. Some of the new authors have already accepted their invite and begun to post. Others have not.

If you applied to be an author you should have received 2 emails; one from Web Series Today and the "invite" from blogger. If you did not receive both then check your e-mail spam folder. If you still do not see them both then send an e-mail to [email protected] asap.
