2) quite possibly the worst written script for an episode, EVER.
3) these characters look like they have absolutely no mental capacity. HELLO...his friend just DIED. and he got STABBED. and you're going to throw popcorn at him? i would run away too.
this is SO MUCH WORSE than i could have ever hoped for. i stuck around, waited for this video, wanted to give this season a chance, but if this is any indication of what it's going to be like, i'm DONE.

So we finally get a shot of Jonas de-shirted. It happens 3 days after he had a serious knife wound to the abdomen that required surgery, and his abs are perfect - untouched. The guy must be Jesus. So why couldn't he save Bree?

Assuming cousin Toby and his 'girlfriend' Carla have some connection to the Order, what is their interest in Jonas now that Bree is gone? I think that is the story point here beneath Carla's obvious insensitivity.
ReplyDeleteProbably not this clever, but she could be obnoxious on purpose to encourage Jonas to turn to Toby and help create a bond there.
I was glad to see a female character other than Taylor or Sarah, but the way Carla has been written makes it unlikely she is more than a small role (I think).

I understand we have to have a grieving process but any way we could get them all out of the way in one vid? I really don't need to see another drunk Daniel video.
People had said after the finale that they were done, others said they would give season 2 a shot, I don't think those people got what they were looking for.
I'm kinda speechless actually and that's hard to do.

ReplyDeleteI think the point, QtheC, is most likely that she is order, and knows Jonas is in for the resistance now. Her job, most likely is to stop him - thus why she freaked when she discovered he was gone. She's probably in deep do do now.

Good question qthec, how is it they found out that Bree died? Certainly Jonas didn't tell them. Probably Hymn of One doesn't know she died. They would have to have gotten the information through someone with order connections. We know they are Order insiders, because they were at the party.

Back in the "Uncle Daniel" video from back in March, when we all first see Toby. He introduces a differnt girl, her name was Beth and she was a reporter. I guess this Carla girl is a 'new' girlfriend who has never met Joans before, and has no real grasp on what to do when someone passes away.
ReplyDeleteJonas needs time, he needs to mourn. Being a complete stranger and comforting someone you don't know by throwing popcorn is not cool. I am not surprised that he ran away.
Where do you all think Jonas ran off to? I think he left to go to Daniel's place.

ReplyDeleteActually Carla was in the video Uncle Dan. She was openly flirting with Jonas in that one. The video was decent, somewhat fillerish. Someone in IRC predicted the first 2-3 episodes will probably all be vlogs from the different characters. Todays was Jonas, then in the next couple episodes will be DB, Taylor, Sarah, and maybe Spencer. And as everyone else wishes, Carla must be punched in the head, or be found to be trait positive =)

ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely the worst video in the series so far. Inane dialog, completely unbelievable characters (even the most empty-headed Paris Hilton clone would have some concept of respect for mourning and loss)... just awful.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I can imagine is that the writers want to turn Jonas off women entirely and push him into the loving arms of Daniel, who's the only person who understands his pain.
This isn't looking promising for the new season. Creaters, you lost a lot of fans for killing Bree. And during this critical time of maintaining your fanbase, you introduce this irritating character? Come on.

Also, "WOW! OMG! An upset Jonas voted with his legs and got the hell out of the house with the annoying chick?! NO WAY ANYONE COULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMMING!" :-p
Maybe Jonas leaving was meant to symbolize the fans who left because they were annoyed that Bree died. That new girl represents Bree's death and the annoying last 3 vids of the 12 in 12. Something a lot of us could not tolerate.

ReplyDeleteI just feel really cheated... We spent all those months to see the unforlding of the CEREMONY and we get nothing, we hear a EKG going flat and a closed door. Another slap on the face by the Creators... The only way I think I can recover interest oin the series is this "Ceremony" we didn't get to see involved some bringing her back from the dead... if not..., it was nice to meet you all but I'd be taking off... I liked LG because it was inteligent entertainment, it stopped being that since... shall I say it? what the heck... since Glenn left. Sorry but, it was never the same. They tried to make it better with the "sexual" tension... Fucked up on that too, tried to bring on "new exciting" characters... head on collision. I mean, I love the show but it was better when Mesh wrote for the show.

Okay seriously, how the hell do these people know Bree died? Obviously Jonas didnt tell them.. people in HoO and the Order dont know what the ceremony is about at all, so they dont know people die in it and therefore wouldnt know she died.. unless they are way inside the order and Jonas would pick up on that... This makes no sense at all.. Maybe they saw the videos on youtube? and if they did and weren't in the order, wouldnt they be freaking the hell out about it?

Actually, I think this video is very promising. Already the Order are trying to sneak back into the lives of the resistance! Yes, Carla is annoying, but it's very obvious we are SUPPOSED TO HATE HER. SHE IS AN ORDER MOLE as we know from the 'Uncle Dan' vids.

ReplyDeleteMost of you that are bitching and moaning about this episode must not have not watched or paid attention to the series because these are not new characters, they were introduced months ago. As a matter of fact, the Toby/Jonsas's cousin thing was one of the plotholes in the series.
ReplyDeleteIt makes perfect sence that they would know about Bree because they are in The Order (that was pretty much figured out after we learned about Alex)and it makes perfect sence that The Order would maybe have them check up on Jonas. Lucy knew what was going on when they charged for the door, and she knows that Jonas (and DB too probably) are ticking bombs. The Order totaly have not backed off from the boys. They are going to watch them even closer now Are you guys seriously hating the girl who plays Carla? She's brilliantly annoying! What a great actress. Please dont tell me that there are people who are watching this and thinking that her character written with the intentions of being likeable. Chill out and stop spinning.
