ReplyDeleteI also would have voted for Obama if I was American. I really hope Europe and the US will become closer again. Because Bush fucked up the relations pretty bad. You don't want to know how many Dutch people hated America, because of him. Hopefully we can be friends again ;)
ReplyDeleteEuropeans dislike Americans because they always meet the obnoxious ones. Trust me, I worked abroad for awhile, it's very true even if you don't realize it. My best friend in Switzerland was British and she had only met annoyed Americans/Canadians until that point. I even met an annoying American who came to work with us in Switzerland. She was so annoying that if I didn't know better I would have hated Americans, except I'm American so I knew better.
ReplyDeleteNot being liked around the world is more the fault of obnoxious tourists who expect everyone to know English and trample on the culture of the places they visit. Unfortunately, its mainly those people who seem to travel (or at least they are the most noticeable).

and just on top of that most outside views saw obama as the ideal choice meaning if it were possible we would tilt it more in his favor
And as for care for other peoples culture im not so sure many times iv mentioned to the lg comunity im british i get a "OMG i love british i want to go there and explore their culture!!!" but perhaps its a rise in the youths opinion thanks to the advantage of the internet.
