Update on LOST's ARG

Imagine my surprise when I received an e-mail from Octagon Global Recruiting, the official recruiters for the D.H.A.R.M.A. Initiative. This e-mail verifies what we suspected- the first "live-event" will be taking place at Comic-Con 2008 in San Diego.

Octagon Global Recruiting, on behalf of the Dharma Initiative, would like to thank you for registering your expression of interest in our latest volunteer recruitment drive.

We will be launching in San Diego on July 24th at Comic-Con International offering select registrants the opportunity to take an exciting aptitude test that will give applicants the chance to demonstrate their unique talents.

The Dharma Initiative hopes you will be able to join us to find out more about their ground-breaking new research project. We will contact you closer to the date with more information.

For those not able to join us in San Diego, Dharma's full recruitment program will be made available online to registered recruits after July 27th.

In the meantime, the Dharma Initiative urges you to spread the word. Invite your colleagues to join the team at www.octagonglobalrecruiting.com and take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity.

  1. Two good places to join into more detailed discussions about the latest LOST arg as it unfolds are the forums on unfiction.com (section will be set up at some point, but initial thread is in the Rumors section)

and The Fuselage forums section for The Experience:
    http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/forumdisplay.php?f=289

Each forums tend to have their own ways of doing things so tread lightly when you are new.

  2. Q, do you think this is going to pick off where the last (proper) ARG left off with Rachel?
Or do you think this will be an entire new experience?

  3. Hope, from what I understand from folks who like to decompile flash, etc. over on unfiction, there was an indication in the code that Octagon Global Recruiting was created by the same people (a company down in Australia) that did the "Find 815" Arg-ish thing.

My (pure guess) is that this will be a new stand-alone story, but since it lies in the same fictional universe, it could certainly contain references to the show and to the other summer events. If it connects directly, then "Find 815" would be more likely since it's the same people creating it.

This initial site, the "Global Recruiting" seems to be aimed toward more direct fan involvement perhaps than "Find 815" had.

The Fuselage mods have put all these LOST Arg-ish things together under "The Experience" section, but that doesn't imply they are closely related. It's more that there is somewhat of a community of people that have been posting there since "The Experience."

But yeah, it would be great to see Rachel Blake show up again - even just a Comic Con cameo or something like that.
