For those of you that care, the community content discussion has come to completion, and we are now in the process of refiling content. If you would like to help, here's how it's going down:

I'm going through EVERYTHING listed in Category:User Generated Content, to make sure I catch everything.

1. Tag main content page with {{community content}}. (You may want to read the new pages about how I'm implementing it.)


1. If it's content that was never featured or not part of a series with extended coverage, mark it for deletion. (Mark any images included on these pages for deletion, as well.)


2. Videos that were featured are to be tagged as basic coverage, with a link to where they were featured. Also, add these to Category:Featured content.


3. I'm basing ratings off of the old LGPedia:UGC Tier List, but factoring in the new rating system - all tier 1 and 2s will get basic coverage, 3s and 4s will generally get partially-full; use your judgment.


2. Add content to Community Content/Series, Community Content/Videos, or Community Content/Other, based on what they are ("other" being things like commentors).


3. Move content from Category:User Generated Content to Category:Community content, with series being signified as such by going in Category:Community series.

Note that some series will be pared back, due to the new coverage guidelines, but this will be done AFTER this step. This piece is merely an opportunity to flesh out content and get everything easier to find for those that wish to find it.

I made up my mind about credits

. . . . and I thought you all might want to know. :)

It's been enlightening to experiment a bit with credits this past week. Thanks for all the good feedback on credits. I'm actually full circle on this issue.

I'm going to abandon OOG credits altogether. Not because I don't appreciate you all and the work you put in. I do! But it's distracting and it doesn't give credit to the collective effort that happens. Even people who don't solve any puzzles, but chime in with entertaining things deserve credit for keeping morale up (like Chelsey doing the worm when acid tells her to be useful). Every solve is truly a group effort.

I'm also going to avoid updating publicly how many steps there are to puzzles. However, know that I am keeping score behind the scenes, and when the series runs it's course, I'll publish my log.

Also, I'm not going to use the characters to encourage those on the right track that they are right either. Actually, this time around, the actors are going to be playing their characters in chat, on emails and the like, and they will earnestly not know the answers to the problems at hand. They will be just as lost as you.

So, the only place to look for answers will be the story. The only way to discover the hidden truths here will be to look carefully, mobilize effectively, and make sure every puzzle is found and solved. Some will be easy, and others will be near impossible.

This decision is motivated by my desire to not give any hints to you. I don't want to spoil the story.

I'm giving you my advice now through these mini puzzles. I hope it helps when the time comes.

As always, I'm flexible, and I'd love to hear your feedback on this policy. I'd certainly change my mind on this if someone presented a good argument to do so.

Cole Harkin, one of five survivors of the Wakefield murders, returns home today after two and a half months of recovery at the Washington Pacific University Burn Center. Harkin, a veteran of the Harper’s Island Sheriff’s Department, confronted John Wakefield with Deputy Joshua Aiken at the Harper’s Island Marina the day of the murders. Wakefield proceeded to assault the Deputies, knocking them unconscious, and setting their bodies on fire with the explosion of several boats at the marina. Aiken and Harkin were attended to immediately by Sheriff Charlie Mills and local youth, Henry Dunn. Aiken was unfortunately pronounced dead on the docks, but Harkin was airlifted to the University for treatment at the Burn Center.

Harkin suffered third degree burns, covering 40% of his body, encompassing the entire right side, including his face. Doctors have performed several skin grafts and plastic surgeries. Dr. Andrea Shore, Chief of Surgery at the University Burn Center, remains optimistic about Harkin’s recovery. “Cole has a long road to recovery. These surgeries should give him a chance at a normal life.”

John Wakefield committed six murders, including Aiken’s, over a one day spree. The rampage ended when Sheriff Mills tracked and killed Wakefield at the Eastern Bluff.
